The Pub :

The village is close to the coast and the area provides good walking, fishing and bird watching locations. There is also a Golf Course and a variety of other attractions nearby.

The Pub has three bar areas ; The Public Bar, Lounge and Games Room.

The Lounge Bar has new Tables and Chairs & an antique overmantle mirror has been purchased to replace the eye-sore of the old 70's style fake stone chimney breast.

The Games Room has been redecorated and refurnished in a style similar to the rest of the Pub and the ugly sliding doors replaced with an open arch to connect it to the Public Bar. Both areas now have new furniture.

The Lounge and the Games Room have a shared Juke Box with a good selection of music for your entertainment.

Both areas also have dart throws, two in each.

The Games Room also has a 7' x 4' Pool Table and we have a Pool League Team operating on a Thursday Evening, and an in house Pool Competition will run through the Summer.

The Plough Cricketers compete in the Gentlemens' Cricket League, with fixtures on Sunday Mornings.

SKY TV is also available in the Games Room, so that we can keep up to date with West Ham's fixtures.

The Public Bar is the oldest part of the building and during our re-decoration we were able to see areas of the original 'Wattle and Daub' walls where plaster had lifted.

When the log fire is burning, it is a very cosy room. This bar is the most used part of the Pub, and regular customers can be found here at most times of the day. This area has also been refurnished in keeping with the furniture in the rest of the Pub.

As from 1st July 2007, it became illegal to smoke in enclosed Public areas, so The Plough Inn is now a totally non-smoking building. Therefore, we no longer sell cigars, cigarettes or any other smoking related items. .

Our extensive gardens are available for smokers, along with benches on our road frontage. A covered area is available in the Garden.

Our re-decoration programme is almost complete on the interior. Although we do accept that our Toilet area will require some attention soon. The exterior of the building was finally repainted June 2008 and has greatly improved the appearance of the Plough Inn. New lettering on the South facing wall has alsoadded to the presentation. The Lounge Bar, is now totally redecorated and furnished. Sunday Lunches are also served in the Lounge and this bar is sometimes used for private functions.

Much of the property has been recently rewired and new lighting has been fitted. Outside lighting has been greatly improved so the whole area is lit in the evening.

Please contact us if you are interested in arranging a small social event or maybe a presentation meal.
